Jar of coffee made 2 dents in our kitchen work-top .... on the one journey when I forgot to move the jar!! After reading Gazmister's post, I think I'll be having a trip to Homebase - the dents really irritate me!
We always travel with everything from the upper cupboards in boxes on the floor. We began doing this when we got on site one day with the tins etc in their respecive cupboards, opened one of the doors & just stopped a tin landing on the glas lid of the hob. I dread to think what that would have cost.

we allways pack tins jars and heavy objects in collapsible plastic crates which go over the 2 axles along with the awning and tv and kojack , when we arrive on site ,we unpack and fold the crates and put them under the bed
Had something similar happen to us a few years ago - glass sauce bottle made a leap to freedom out of a locked (!) overhead cupboard straight onto the worktop. Left a dent but never broke the surface - in a 1 yr old van too
