Hiya' Michael,  The damp check is part of your warranty service.  We are now on our third new van and each and all have had a free damp check as part of each service under warranty.  Our first Brand New van was an Elddis, the second was a Bailey and our recent new van was a compass (bought brand new in 2007 and actually had to have the front windows replaced free of charge at the last service owing to damp.)  Hope you have better luck than that one,

I'm guessing you got your Bailey from the same place I got mine?

Dorvic, as they appear to be the only Bailey dealer in NI.  Damp check on mine included in the service.

Yes Al, The reason I ask is if there is anything wrong with the van, they tell me how to fix it, they just dont seem that bothered with customer service to me which does not inspire confidence.

Not quite sure what you mean? I have always received good customer service at Dorvic!

I'm Al's other half and I'm always there when collecting van from service.  Damp check is always done, and anything that needs seen to during the service is done and obviously charged for.  With us it's usually something we have broken off, such as the water pump flap on the outside of van or Matt seems to break his bunk light frequently. 

When we had our last van, it was second hand bought from Dorvic it came with 6 mths warranty.  When we went for service after the first year they found damp around the cooker sink area, they replaced the full panel at the service for no charge.  The following year they found damp in the back toilet area, again the panels were replaced and no charge.  They told us that it should have spotted when we bought the van as it wasn't recent.  I can't see very many dealers doing this!
