Hello. I've purchased my first caravan today! We are going into it blind as we've previously just had a tent. It comes with a waste water container, a gas canister, a water pump and a hitchlock. I was just wanting any advice as to other items we may need to buy apart from an aquaroll.

Any new caravanner advice would really be appreciated as we are very green!

Hi there and welcome to caravanning.

We started off with a trailer tent and to be honest there is not a lot more to learn.  If you can erect a tent then you can an awning.  You have most of the stuff already from camping.  So it's just the toilet, fresh water and having hot running water on tap that is different.  Did you get a manual that explains what you have to do with the toilet cassette?  It took me ages to get used to turning on a switch for hot water instead of boiling a kettle up lol.

I still love being able to run water from a tap and not having to traipse to the loo in the night but i don't like having to empty the toilet but i'm hoping to convince dh and kids to take a turn too.

I'm sure you will have some wonderful times away in her and just think if you fancy going away in the middle of winter there is absolutely nothing stopping you!!

Happy 'vanning
