morning, we were with e & l but had'nt had to make a caim so we stuck with them for a year as we were new to tourers, we were paying £17.00 per luner month for a brand new van. after reading all the posts on here we deciced to switch and got loads of quotes and went with caravan guard, £320. 00 a year. we dont need a lot of cover for contents cause thats coverd on house policy but things like fridge etc are on as well as the awning but why do people cover things like pots n pans etc ? seems a waste of money to me , they're cheap enough to buy. atb Bill
All the bits and pieces add up to hundreds which is why we have contents insurance for pots, pans, china dinner sets, glass glasses, cultery, TVs, DigiBox, DVD,, etc as these will not be covered by household insurance. Household only covers clothese etc.

Our house contents insurance covers everything in our house, and the same items when temporarily removed from the house. Things such as the TV, laptop, tools, bedding, towels, any electrical stuff or dishes we don't normally keep in the van, even probably the tables, chairs and gas grill we take away as they are otherwise kept in the house, and of course clothes.
So there is no need to insure those items again.
Apart from the van itself, we have cover for "equipment", which would include the extras we added to the van(mover, air con, shocks, extra electrical fittings), and stuff such as the battery, gas bottles, awning, Aquaroll, Wastemaster, and a bit extra for the tables/chairs/gas grill just in case.
With the CC you don't have to take contents cover if you don't need it, and this gives a significant saving.
