Hi All,

It's been a while since I was last on here, but wondered if anyone has had the same problem? Well I have two!

First, my lovely wife snapped off the tap in the kitchen of our van, by accident she says!

I got a new one and fitted it, but now the bathroom tap works only when the kitchen tap is on???

I have changed the wires round and still nothing? Any help?

Also: The indicator lights on my van go dim and flash when the van lights re on?

I am in the middle of changing the 7 pin socket as i think there may be a problem there but should i look at any thing else?

I have a week to do this before we head off to longleat! If the tap doesnt get sorted then the lions might get a bit of fresh meat when we go in there! Good job she doesn't see this! he he

look forward to any help

sounds like your doing the right thing about the lights, if the whole cluster or both flash its normally due to poor earth and i would suspect the plug.

as for the tap seems like you may of pulled abit to much on the wires i assum it the micro switch type ?, have you pulled the wires off the back of the bathroom switches?, or has the cable broke between the bathroom and the kitchen.

Dunno what type of tap you have, but if the microswitch is the small rectangular type fitted to the side of the tap, check it is not upside down. Our washroom cold one was - and it was like that from the factory! The button on the switch cannot be activated by the cam on the tap if this is the case.

remove the wires from the tap and touch together,if the pump runs you need a new micro switch.the reason the bathroom works is because the kitchen tap is starting the pump running.

I think i found the micro switch, but the wires are soldderd on?

The thing I screwed to the wall was like a joining block. It still clicks but when i bridged it nothing! Maybe i need to get a better contact?

I dont know?

I'm getting sooooo wound up!

A real stab in the dark here but would i need to plug into mains for it to work?

I am just using battery power at the mo?

not normally most water pumps run on 12v so you wont need to connect to the mains

, as for the micro switch you could always use a blade fuse to short accross the two solder terminals, id use the fuse as it would prevent damage if there is another fault, id use a 10 or maybe 15 amp one. this should opperate the pump.

is the bathroom tap problem with hot and cold or just one ?

Just so the good lady does not get unfairly blamed.
Some taps have an unfortunate habit of breaking even with the lightest of touch; the plastic used can go extremely brittle due to water absorption. I know of two such failures both on Reich fold down kitchen pumps, our own and brothers.

Not that this helps sorts it out but hopefully removes possibly ill placed blame.

Yep just down the road, from longleat still a aint been there in over 5 years,

id would expect it will just be a wire fault somewhere, if not only a switch but its the time it takes to find it.

if i her about a woman getting eaten by lions next week in the paper, ill make sure i keep your name out of it.
