Mandi, firstly, if there is a failure in the handbrake linkage, which is what it sounds like, it doesn't mean you have no brakes, second if oh pulled up handbrake 'and nearly lost his arm' you couldn't have been running with the brake on. If there is heat damage on one side and not the other, it sounds like mal-adjustment in the first place which should have been picked up at the dealer's p.d.i.

Trevor is not a dealer, purely a caravan engineer and I'm sure he would give an appraisal for probably an hours labour charge with a written report if required. Might be worth a try as I think you are going to have a battle with the dealer, don't give up. Would even consider contacting Adria direct informing them of the prob and the attitude of the dealer. I know they are not built in this country but they must have a rep in the UK but even if you write to their overseas location they will have no language probs as a lot of their business is in the UK and I'm sure you'd get a response. Topic: hand brake went ping! Help!!!!
. As its new we thought (wrongly i'm told) it would be sorted under warrenty. It appears (so the dealer says) we have driven it with the handbrake on so its our fault, if this happened how did we managed to pull it on when we stopped? Also it appears that one wheel is heat damaged & the other not
& i actualy saw wheels going round as hubby drove down the field surely if the handbrake was on the wheels shuldn't go round? Dealer tells us its designed to hold the van still not stop it being towed! But that aside i really dont no if its safe to tow in this state, we have tried loads of people locally (on the dealers say so) that do mobile servicing to come fix it but they wont touch it when you tell them how old it is! We have 2 weeks before our main holiday which is booked & paid for so need help urgently!!! Any ideas please.
! we have quite a large tow car ( its a mitsubushi truck thing belongs to oh!) so dealer said we wouldn't notice towing with brake on ! (i'm sure we would).
