Hi can any Adria owners give any advice on their vans. I have looked at an Adria 502 Altea today and it looks fab but dont know anything about them any advice or reviews would really help cheers
We'v got the Atea 542dt we love it its prefect layout for us seems really sturdy & well made & has really good storage.. But we've got probs at the mo with no handbrake & the dealers aren't being overally helpful, possibly cos wer'e 120 miles away!
So my advice is definatly get one but buy locally to you!

We have an Adria 432px which is a 2007 model, we had problems with the taps after it was serviced last year, but I think it was something the dealer did and they soon corrected it.
Friends of ours told us to be careful with it when we brought it because "Adrias aren't well made" but even with our kids slamming locker doors etc it has stayed in tacked. It also came with alot of exras like a spare wheel, ground sheet etc.
I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another Adria if I had the money.

thanks for that, can I just ask if you have come across problems with the van have a door on the other side of the van, just wondered what it would be like pitching up?
After about 2006/7 the door on UK import models was one the 'correct' side. I can't comment on the door question (mine is a 2007) but the 502DK Altea I have is excellent, the layout suits us and the build quality appears to be very good indeed. We love ours, just make sure you do all the usual checks (damp etc) and you should be fine.
We bought our 2005 Altea 502DK (door on the continental side - there is no such thing to us as the door being on the 'wrong' side!) nearly 2 years ago and have had no problems with anything. It was serviced earlier this year and everything was fine. We love ours and would not hesitate to have another. In fact, once the 'kids' are no longer holidaying with us (probably within the next couple of years!) i really fancy the Adora range now that we have a heavier car to pull it. We wouldn't swap mine for any other make except maybe a Hymer that we can't afford or tow!
We have the Altea 542DT which we think is great, good layout for us and a decent sized bathroom and shower. Build quality seems pretty good so far but only used it 4 times so not had a great deal of use yet. When deciding between this and the Bailey Ranger this swung it as wider bunks, more headroom and a wider van so more useable living space. Also lots of storage, which is a bonus.
Had a problem with the kitchen sink leaking when we first had it but that was sorted by the dealer and been fine since. Water pump noisy but think just needs a bit of adjustment.
Also has full UK spec i.e door on usual side, all electrics and gas as other vans except for a single 13 pin electric to connect to the car.

I know several friends with Adria's, one of which has the 'continental' door position. Only minor difficulties they have is that some Caravan Club sites have been funny in their pitching and insisting the van's pitched opposite to everyone else's (which might be awkward hitch-first, to some folk). Also, they're very selective with layby stops as the door's then road-side and not brilliant with small children etc.
However, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the Adria and only mention these points as they've been discussed recently.
