We have just purchased our second hand caravan and planning to go on our first break soon. We are aware of the importance of not overloading the caravan and storing items in the middle while on transit. Our wardrobe is at the back of the caravan and I am unsure whether clothes can be in there whilst the caravan is being towed?
We alwways put the things in the wardrobe, when we go for a fortnight I put t shirts etc in clear plastic boxes with lids and stick them in the awning when we get there.
Anything that will be hanging we drape across the front seats - easy to hang once we get where we're going, and keeps the weight low down...it's surprising how much clothes weigh, and I'd rather not have them swinging about in a wardrobe.
Other clothes go in holdalls, which are kept on floor in van or boot of car, depending on noseweight of van and how much is in the van & car.
As much on the floor as possible keeps the centre of gravity down and stability up! Bit of a pain if we split the journey overnight, but it's one night and it takes 5 mins to put stuff in car overnight, and 5 mins to put it back in the van the next day.

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about....?
We put our clothes towels etc in the wardrobe and lockers where they will be kept for the journey. The only thing that isnt packed away is the food larder, tins bottles jars etc travel in one of those collapsable boxes on the floor and get packed away when we get there to avoid them causing any damage on the journey.
i have all my work clothes hanging in wardrobe shoes/boots/waders neatly in the bottom
its not a mega sized wardrobe so not much chance of being overladen
my dirty washing tends to remain on the floor (joke ok no it actually does) in a bag ready to be washed and ironed on my return and put straight back in
as the pipe for blow air that runs through bottom of wadrobe is punctured all my clothes come out warmed in the morning :)

So if you move on every few days you pack and unpack every time?
