We are thinking of maybe changing our van next year for something with a shower. Keeping the van at home behind the house (where we keep our present van) has saved a pretty penny on storage. The only downside is having to pass under fixed car port next to the house ! Unfortunatly the height is only 8ft (2.44mts) does anyone know of a van that meets this height ? even if it means removing the aerial.....cheers

Virtually All, Ariba's, a couple of Going's (polish), Smaller Hymer's, T at B's, Trigano popup'.

Very limited choice, probably less than a dozen from the 400 or so listed in the caravan mag.

Seems newer vans have got taller. My grampian is only 2.41

Grampain 91

We have just purchased a second hand Grampian 92, I notice you use a Mondeo to pull it. How does it do towing, our Mondeo is a 1800 and just in the process of having a towbar fitted

Stevo1, T at B's are little caravans, strange design not to everyones taste. My caravan is 1150 max. 900kg unladen.

Lou+G. The mondeo copes well, Mine is the 2L petrol. I do tend to keep up with the traffic & would rather drop a gear than slow down on the hills. That bit on the M5 springs to mind where the 2 carriageways seperate. I felt is starting to slow & dropped down a gear & it soon picked back up. I do that automatically i dont risk labouring the engine.

I have the handbook for car and caravan if you need any information from it.
Just let me know your email address & i can scan the pages for you.

PS.. Dont need an awning for it do you LOL

You can get a free email address from yahoo, You can use that for general web use, If it gets spammed too much stop using it and create a new one.

Your mondeo is the MK2 model, A little bit less powerful than the later one, But should still cope well enough. I had a 2L one of those as well. Just remember the cars peak power & torque will be 4000 - 5000 rpm. Do not be afraid to use that rev range. Much better for the engine than having your foot to the floor at 1000 rpm, With the revs dying (labouring the engine).

You can email me at.
