Why would that be? I am guessing that your caravan is equipped with a four burner hob, grill and oven and possibly a microwave! 17

I am not denying that the Cadac looks good and seems a well thought out piece of equipment, I'm just curious as to how 99% of everything was cooked before!  17

Yep it's got all those but cooking with a Cadac is a lot easier and cleaner and a lot less washing up

A lot less washing up?  Do you wash your Cadac after each use?  I only as because our caravan friends have one and taking it to be washed after use is more trouble than our washing up in the van, usually a pot and a baking tray if using the oven.

It looks a great job but to be honest the washing of it puts me off..

Yes of course we wash it after each use takes a few minutes and is as good as the day we bought it.

Sorry, I wasn't implying you didn't wash it, I should have made it clearer, what I meant was, it is like a wok or non-stick pan? is it wiped after each use or does it actually need washed like a BBQ?  Our friends do wash theirs but wasn't sure if that was the norm..

It depends what we cook on it Wendy sometimes it's pretty clean so Steve just cleans it with a roll of paper. We don't actually use the rack thing to cook i think that would make it messy we mainly use the griddle and the other side of it which is flat or we have used the skottle all come out pretty good afterwards.

I have one at the back of the shed, personally I found it too heavy, difficult to keep clean and the flame kept blowing out when on low.

Not one of our better buys.

The full size ones are just too heavy and bulky as there are only the two of us to cater for.
We have their little Safari, that works well for out door cooking but it's not what I would define as BBQing, and again is heavier and bulkier than I like.
As for being "cool" then only Clarkson could give the definitive answer on that one; and do we care?
