Hi All.....Question particularly aimed at Gary if your around, but would appreciate any advice from anyone who may have had a similar problem. Have the above oven in our Swift Challenger. Haven't really used it much over the years but when we were away last week the oh lit the oven to cook something. It lights ok but the flame appears to be a lot smaller than what I remember it being the last time we used it. On the highest setting it wasn't really getting hot enough to do the cooking. Turned down to the minimum it is just barely on. There doesn't seem to be any thermostat or whatever that would be controlling the flame, just the manual knob on the front. Any ideas or suggestions regarding this would be most appreciated. Thanks.
Well seeing as you ask! the big problem with these ovens is the inside of the gas supply pipe to the burner, it rusts and the rust flakes build up in the bottom of the pipe.
Solution is to disconnect both end of the pipe and blow it all out, then clean the jet and put it all back together.
Of course the joints then need checking for leaks while the burners lit so gas is coming through?

Many thanks for the reply Gary. I'll have a look at that pipe then. I'm assuming the only way to get access to this is to remove the oven completely and take it from there. Cheers.
hi i have the above oven in my fleetwood, ive just brought second hand.the grill & oven work grand but i need to hold the grill knob down for it to keep alite.the stat that sits bt the flame is bent into the flame.is this correct or do i need to bend it a bit,or is it the know bit thats faulty ? cheers
The bit that's in the flame as you describe is the thermocouple. That is supposed to keep the gas supply open once lit. Sounds like you have a faulty thermocouple.
