Hello,

Can anyone tell me how easy a job it is to do a DIY fitting of a Powrtouch mover to a caravan? I'm pretty good with car/motorbike mechanics but am a little concerned about the wiring side of things...can anyone offer any advice?

Ideally I wanted one fitted, but I've left it too late before we go away to France. I can get hold of one before I go, but would have to install myself.

they are easy peasy a couple of hours and it will be done all wiring is labeled or color coded and easy to follow on the powrtch i have now fitted to 3 vans and it is easy i did cheat as i have a ramp and van went on there  but it is just a s easy on the floor on the one i did for my uncle

Yep, agreed. Comprehensive instructions included, I fitted the Purple Line one and there is a couple of nice videos of how to do it on You Tube.

I concurr

fitted a powrtouch two weeks ago

basically just bolt it on, run the cable to the battery and fit the "brain" nearby.

wiring is dead easy as there aint much to wire it just screws on the relevant terminals.

just make sure you have the right size crimp terminals as the ones we were originally provided didnt fit the chunky cable.

Well I hope I have just 'lucked out' and found a company who will supply and fit next week, normally I'm happy to have a go myself but we're going away a week on Monday and can't afford the usual sort of calamity that seems to happen to us when we try to get something done ourselves at the last minute.

Thanks for all the advice, it may not help me but it will help any other members that do a search on DIY fitting

I bought my Powrtoch direct from them on a DIY basis, simple to fit with their complete fitting instructions. A lot easier than I thought it was going to be.
