Hi all. We're having a great first year with our van but i just don't know where the time has gone.Ive googled the start of Autumn dates and theres a variation of sep 1st and sep 21st.Either way,we are'nt looking forward to not going out with the van as much when the weather changes..We're determined to still use it now and again in the winter but there is no heating whatsoever in the van so we can only use the few sites open in the winter with ehu.
Just wandering how many of you carry on vanning during the winter months.

The only month we have not we have not been away in the caravan is January. The Caravan Club now have quite a selection of sites open all year. Have you thought about an oil filled radiator as a means of heat. They don't make any noise and they are quite effective.
Hi david. We've got a small blowheater which warms our small van up quite niceley but it is noisy to a degree. We've got a radiator somwhere and i'll dig it out but i dont know how warm it will keep us if its minus 5 outside. It'll be ok for the autumn though. We just can't face the whole winter without having a trip out with the van.

In our 1st van which we have just sold, we used a oil filled radiator in the winter, it was quite good, even in the snow!! It kept the van nice an warm.
We van all the year round and only use sites with EHU in the winter ,a 2kw fan heater for day and evening use and a 800 watt electric oil rad for over night. padded jacket over aqua roll backed up with bottled water inside incase it feezes hard.
Been ok so far Sandringham CC site at Christmas this year followed up with Ferry Meadows CC site for New year.
