Not being a lover of awnings I am looking for a good quality sun canopy (probably will have to double up as a rain canopy!) which doesn't involve fitting roof poles - ie just front supporting legs. Has anyone any
suggestions?
Thanks both. I'm not really that keen on the Caravanstore - whilst I think the idea is great, there
are things to consider, such as the bag damaging the paintwork, the weight of it hanging on the rail on the move, etc.
We had something similar to the Easicanopy some years back. We went out one day and the heavens opened. Arrived back at the site to find that there were about 20 gallons of water holding in the roof and the legs had backled with the weight. The one we had was a Foxwell Foyer. But I suppose this is one of the things which can happen with a canopy?

We had a Caravanstore on our last van for 6 years and have just purchased a new one for our new van. They are really convenient to use. You don't notice them whilst towing when in place. The new ones come with foam pads on the back of the bag to prevent marking the van.
I read this on another thread on this site and having just bought a new Bailey I'm a bit dubious.
Whatever you do don't let Bailey find out you are using one of them. When we went to buy one for our Sancerre we were told by Bailey that it would invalidate their warranty.
If the warranty - they probably don't want 10 kgs of awning hanging off the awning rail on the move in case all the bumping around damages the paintwork, or worse still pulls the awning rail off, or loosens the joint between roof and wall.
Well why sell the flipping things then? You could take it down and tell them a normal awning was used if there was damage. Are they gonna invalidate warranties if you use any awning next??
------------- Jan:Braids Gretna, Feb Stanwix Park Silloth & Braids Gretna,
We have an NR Suncanopy which does not have the roof poles.
Because of that it does not stand particularly well as you can only tension the roof with the guy lines.
Yes we have, not used it yet but we will shortly give it some serious stick in France, we are very impressed with the build quality and the wieght or I should say the lack of it.
