Hi, we bought our Avondale Custom Pearle (1994ish) in the spring at a super cheap £500. We knew it wasn't perfect and that a repair had been made at the rear corner (which still hadn't totally solved the damp there). It has also been silliconed to death. Inspite of this we've had a lovely and comfortable summer in it. We just came back from devon and noticed the front where the battery is housed has dropped. When we looked into the front compartment we realised that a piece of timber across the back of the compartment which seems to hold the front up is totally rotten. My oh and fil are planning to attempt to remove the damage and repair it themselves. I was wondering if anyone out there can offer them some advice on carrying out this repair or if anyone with experience of these vans can offer any advice at all about known problems we could be facing generally. We've another holiday booked in August and would like to get as much out of this van as possible before moving on to a newer one (although we are both dreaming of fixed bunks for the kids and a cooker, lol) . Thanks
