I have a Elddis 630FB 5 berth twin axle it has the fixed bunks but down the side at the bottom with a table opposite and a wetroom for the bathroom, we got it at the end on last season after we had a 5 berth swift i was sick of making the beds. I love the van the bunks are brilliant.
we have the Adria Altea 542 Uk and we love it! We have 3 children and their beds are at the back with the bunks on one side and a dinette opposite which makes up as a single. We love it because you have a folding door screen that shuts the kids of at night and we have the remainder ie wetroom, kitchen and front lounge. I doesn't have an oven as standard but if that's a must an you can have them fitted but you loose some kitchen draws for around £400.
They are very airy and with lots of beech fittings, best described as an Ikea on wheels. They are very light and easy easy to tow thanks to the alko chassis with standard shock absorbers. Great value for money. 2007+ models are full Uk spec.

also forgot to mention the bunks are full width and length so no problems with older kids. I can sleep on the bottom bunk( and have) with ease and because of the extra width we can even sit 4 round the rear dinette ie 2 adults and 2 children.
Hi, Does anyone have any experience with any of the following: Avondale Dart 556/6 2004, Bailey Ranger 550/6 (2002), Lunar Zenith 6 berth(2001-4). We've seen a few of these (not in person yet). OH has been fancying an Avondale Dart quite near to us (waiting to hear if we can go see it) but I'm nervous about the fact that Avondale no longer exist and the reputation they seem to have. Apart from that the Bailey Ranger has been appealing the most as a friend of ours has one and loves it. Any thoughts good or bad welcome please.
hi we had a bailey 550/6 bunks fixed across rear, ours kids were smaller then and the narrow bunks were fine .only problem we had was when we first used it and the area above the top rear bunk got so wet,it was easter time, that i thought it had a leak but it was just condensation, poor air circulation.
we now own an adria 542uk and the rear bunks are as mentioned full adult size which is great as our kids are huge now
OH loved the bailey but i find the adria more suited to a larger family
I too must agree about the Adria 542, we bought new last year at the end of the summer! Got it for £8000! Don't know whether there will be any similar deals this year! We went for the Adria because it is light and the bunks are really wide, when you compare the bunk dimensions with other makes you will see the difference!! We had a Zenith before and although they too are light the bunks are tiny in comparison, it's ok when you have toddlers but once they get to 10/ 11 they will find the bunks quite restrictive.
And do you know I really thought I was going to struggle without an oven, but so far we haven't! We bought a Cadac and will probably invest in a low wattage toaster! That's the only thing we can't do on the Cadac.
I even eye'd up the new ones, I'd really like one but can't justify a new caravan again this year!
I've seen an older one adevrtised on Caravan finder through a dealer, but I found when we were looking for one secondhand there just wasn't any about!
Got a dart 556 2007 model which we love and have had no problems. Have found the quality to be fine no problems. Most of the main parts are universal so I think there are bargains to be had. The rear bunks are a good size and have even slept on the bottom one myself 5'11" and 15 stone fitted in easily!
Everyone seems to be talking about the Adria and they do sound great but as yet I haven't found one for sale to tempt hubby with. When I've mentioned bunk sizes he just says they can sleep in awning annex when bigger (cruel daddy).
Nice to here some poss for the Dart, thats his fav at the moment, on pins waiting to hear back from them for a viewing (already told us they still have it). Hopefully lack of response is cause they're away and not sold it.
