I smile besause I have'nt a clue whats going on... appreciate everything in life especially your friends...
Always leave blinds open, both at home and on the move. When moving with old van we could see right through and out back window but not this one. Just handy to look around to see everything secure when stopped or when we arrive.

we woz asking our self the same question on the way back from st ives at the weekend ,why some close and some open,so its all down to personal preff then ?
we are new to caravanning, but when we picked our new van up from the dealer we had a demonstration, during the demo the guy told us to tow with the blinds up as it has been known that the can roll up during transit causing damage to the tensioners, Hope this helps.

Always open on the move, got dazzled by a van with blinds down once.Open in storage with throws over the upholstery to stop fading. This enables those of that persuasion to see there is nothing worth nicking left in the van.
Thank you all for taking the trouble to reply. I think the general consensus seems to be "open" with one or two exceptions. We will tow with them open in future I think, if only to resolve the glare issue. There are enough nobheads on the roads causing accidents without us adding to them!
If you're worried about glare, leave the blinds up and shut the curtains. That's what we do. I don't like being able to see the inside of the van in the rear-view mirror - it's distracting.

We travel with our blinds/curtains open, in storage the blinds are down except the roof blinds, that way when we go down to check it out every now & then in between our trips its light enough so we are not pulling a blind up each time to see.
I am always the 'passenger' when travelling and i have my visor down so i can see all the way through the van in the mirror on the visor.
On a few trips (the longer one's) we play count the caravans on the other side of the road/motorway to pass the time. Next time I will suggest count the 'blinds up & blinds down'. Will post the figures on here. Gosh do I sound sad or what. :O)
Well we went to Ferry Meadow and like the last time had a brilliant 4 day break. We counted vans on the road and for the 2 journeys there and back we spotted 33 vans and all but one had the blinds/curtains open, and the one that had them closed was being towed by a break down truck, with the tow car looking a bit worse for wear :0(
------------- After living in my beloved van in Spain for a number of years, I
We always tow with them closed-don't know why,we just do!! We also store with them closed to stop anything fading in the sun.

We tow with ours open. The van is stored on the drive, with the cover on blinds up, I know its a right palaver, but, its stored about a foot from the oil heating outlet duct, it saves the van from soot/oil damage.
