Could anyone tell me how to check if the caravan charger is charging correctley. thanks

Wire up a bulb and see if it lights is a good start if you haven't got a tester.

You will have to disconnect the battery and test the voltage across the wires. Unless you do this, you'll be checking the battery voltage instead of just the charger voltage.

Simply switch the charger off and switch some 12v lights on in the van, now  wait a few minutes and then switch the charger back on, if working the lights should get distinctly brighter, if not the charger isn't working
