im furious.
We keep our lovely caravan in our back garden. Not exactly road access so we have to take down the fence when we want her out, and put the fence back up, thats fine.
Been away last weekend and because we are going away again next weekend we thought we would leave it outside on our house. Its not a main road and the only vehicles that pass our house live next to us. 2 days ago the council received a complaint about it being outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! arrrrrrrrggghhh its not hurting anyone, not obstructing anything!!!!!!!!
Anyway they have been to see us today, and said its fine that we are moving it next week and thats it not a permanent fixture.
People need to get a life, they clearly have nothing better to do but complain.
WHY DO PEOPLE HATE CARAVANS SO MUCH???
rant over
thanks

jealous gits!!
how awful, if it was such a huge problem why ever didnt they just ask when it was going back into the back garden?
our van has to be in storage as we dont have room for it at home but about a week before we go away we collect it and tow it to mils to sort and load it. Mil has a covenant on her property stating no caravans but when they got their new van they spoke to all the neighbours and they have no problem so there is one van there permanantly and one that visits for a week or two every so often.
hopefully you will have a great holiday.

im still foaming now!!!
oh and when the council guy was there he noticed our neighbours who parks theirs on their drive, went over and told them it was a fire hazard across the doors, it clearly doesnt block any doors. So another one unhappy.
anyway just another week and we are off to the lakes for a fortnight, at least THEY like caravans there
hippy chick, we do exactly the same, get the fridge ready, wash it all down, all packed, then out of the garden.
My hubby and the kids sleep in it every weekend, their night of camping out
Sadly we can no longer do that....coz this longer one is in storage we have to do the cleaning out and up there, which is fine really coz they've got lovely washing facilities there including a wall with steps behind so hubby can get right up to see what he's washing on the roof
But now we can only bring it home on the day that we're going away where it has to be temporarily parked on the road outside our house and I do the packing and fridge starting up business there and ohhhhh I do so miss not having it right outside 24/7. But this year, (I've said the same every year since this new one's been in storage mind you), I fully intend to have all our clobber and bedding laid out on the bed in the back room all ready to transport downstairs and into the van so that I'm not hobbling around like a headless chicken AGAIN! I say that every year too
Hubby goes up for a kip while I still faff about in and out so that he's had a bit of rest before we set off which we do around midnight once he's loaded in the awning etc. that have to go over the axle once I've done the rest of the loading and stowing. We prefer to travel through the night so as not to be a pain in the bum to all non-towing folk and we pull into services for him to have an hours more kip a couple of times too and we arrive to our campsite mid-morning.
Ohhhhh...only EIGHT more nights and we're off...Can't wait
Hope you have a wonderful time at The Lakes and yer right of course....THEY love caravans thereIn fact, they'd be lost without us!
