Hi, please please can someone help me before I go insane. We bought our caravan second hand last year and it came with a 'new' Bradcot Portico porch awning, I say new as it was obviously unused but their were no instructions with it and the fixing pads were definately used. So first time out I attempted to put the thing up and couldn't figure out how to attach the fixing pads to the awning, the beading was too big for the pad. I took the pad to my local caravan shop who said "ahh they are isabella pads, you need these" and promptly sold me a pair of easy setup awning brackets.

Well I got the brackets home and guess what, they too wouldn't fit, the hole where you slide them onto the beading was too small, so I phoned Bradcot last week and they said they would send me some replacement brackets for the Portico, after a few days wait I finially ripped open my parcel only to find Bradcot had sent me...two easy setup brackets!

Today in a desparate measure I asked a guy on a local caravan site if I could have a look at his Bradcot awning to see how its fixed and I discovered that his awning beading was a smaller size. Basically my portico has a beading sewn in (looks like two pipes) and both are big enough to slide into the awning rail on my caravan, whereas this guy has one that the big pipe slides into his awning rail and the smaller one inside is what his easy set up bracket slides onto. I'm sliding the top bead into the caravan awning rail but them from inside the awning to other bead is too big to accept the bracket/pad.

I'm at the stage of throwing the awning around and swearing more than usual, can someone please tell me if its normal to have two beads the same size and if so how do I fix it to the caravan!

Many thanks

My Dorema awning has a piping that goes in the awning channel & another smaller one inside that the pads clamp onto. Surely this has to be the standard setup.

Bradcot brochure shows the Easy Fix on the secondary piping. The piping is just like mine.

Have you got two pipings, if so only one goes in the awning channel.

Does sound like you've got an awning with two large pipings rather than a large and a small.
