Hi

anybody ever had there awning rail (above the door) leak.we were away and it was raining quite a lot,went out in the morning and noticed wet on the step had a closer look wiped it and it looks like it is coming thru the awning rail.

Yes we had that problem a few years ago with a swift rapide.Might be worth taking the rail off and resealing it with a good quality mastic rather than just the door bit.

Id say that it sounds unusual for a van of this age to have a problem like this.Its usually the mastic that goes brittle due to weathering etc that lets the water through but on an 06 van i dont think it should be happening.If water is getting behind the rail it could well get into the van through the screw holes that hold the awning rail in place.Might be worth doing a check with a damp meter inside the roofline.You mentioned about cost.Is your van not still under warranty?
