Has anyone got a Bailey Sancerre, please? We've always 'fought shy' of Bailey, but they certainly do seem to provide all the bells and whistles!

We need a fixed bed in the fairly near future and these seems comparable with our current van, a dealer's special Elddis 524.

Any feedback about the Sancerre would be much appreciated!

We have a Burgundy (2008) which we are very pleased with, had the Sancerre been available we would probably have gone for it.

We looked at it but the oh didnt like the colour of the wood finish.

The layout, however, was great.

We are waiting for other manufacturers to launch vans with similar layouts and for our next car which will allow us to tow it!

You could consider the Swift Charisma which has a slightly bigger bathroom. We went for a dealer special in the same design which more bells and whistles.

I like the Sancerre but not the firnishings, the wrap round seating is a great idea, I would have this layout defo!! Im sick of all the neutral colours in new vans though mine is blue and gold inside and looks lovely a splash of colour makes all the difference IMHO

We haven't got the Sancerre, but we have a Pageant S7 Bretagne (it is the same footprint as Sancerre, but a 6 birth layout).

I really do not know why so many people winge about the wood in the new Pageants, we really like it (and so did other people we me on our recent trips away).

If the van is only viewed at a dealer (either inside or with only 2' or so between the vans), then perhaps it could appear a bit dark inside, but on caravan pitches even with a porch awning half covering the kitchen window it is fine.

The standard spec of the van (including the critically acclaimed ATC) is very good and makes for a very comfortable van for either comping with thte chaos of another rainy day in the New Forest or relaxing in the evening with a glass (or two) of wine watching a DVD.

If our 7 year old was 5 or so years older (so was not going to bed before us) we would seriously consider the Sancerre, taking all things to be the same the Sancerre will be top of the wish list for our next van.

We have had our Sancerre for 3 weeks and after two weeks in Cornwall, we are really pleased with it.  We have not found the dark wood finish a problem - the van is not dark on the inside - IMHO - but we have kept everything else light (e.g. linen on double bed).  We love the layout, which seems to provide the best of everything: a double fixed bed and an end washroom.  The lounge area is a touch on the small side, but has ample room for my wife, daughter and myself. (We are all 'well-built' - would easily fit 4 people in).  The 'fridge interior light does appear to be a little O.T.T. - a sexy purple light on the inside - almost like an ultra-violet sunbed!  All in all, after our limited use of the van so far, I think this has the potential as our best van yet.

We looked at the current crop of Bailey models at our local dealership only last week and thought the interiors looked very plastic-y and the upholstery very dull.

Some good things as well like removeable carpets, but overall, not for us.

We prefer Explorer Group caravans. Also quite like Swift.

It really is a matter of personal preference though.

Nothing to do with the layout but.........

One thing we found out was that in the Bailey, when you sit in the front corner seat (as if you are watching t.v.) your head doesn't come in contact with the front window like it does on a lot of other makes. This is because the front doesn't slope so much.

We are only short but it was a major factor when choosing ours.

Yes, I had noticed that too about the front slope.

Thanks for your replies!

Having viewed it (admittedly in a showroom!) we found we didn't like it at all. The wood reminded me of the brown formica with black streaks running through it, that was popular several years ago!

Not for us. We'll try Swift next - awaiting the new models. Yes, more expensive (gulp), but this will probably be our last purchase of a van, so we'll go for something with an island bed, that will, hopefully, last us some years! I can't go climbing over Mr Squirrel for ever....
