If I am looking at any "security device" for my van, I think to myself, "If I lost the key, how long would it take me to get that device off and what tools would I need to do it"?
I suppose it depends on where your van is going to be sited as to what kind of security device you are going to fit.
Judging by the letters in this Forum about caravans that are fitted with all the top notch security fittings and yet they are still getting stolen, at best any security device is only going to slow the thief down, but if he/she wants your van, then no amount of devices is going to stop them as long as they have the time to do it.
The more devices you can put on your van, the more time and effort they will require to nick it and hopefully they will see all your security and go elsewhere for easier pickings.
One good deterrent, if you are storing the van for any length of time, is to leave the van curtains open and take all your soft furnishing into the house. No one is going to steal a van if they then have to spend 5 or 6 hundred pounds getting new soft furnishings made to measure.
