No your account number, name and sort code are on every cheque you have ever issued and often part of the number across the middle of your card too so anybody you have given a cheque or your card to will have been party to it.
Contrary to popular belief without a whole load more detail no bank on this planet should hand out your money with just a number and sort code.
However, DO NOT under any circumstances transfer money or pay money in BEFORE viewing the item and checking out it is as described and the person actually exists, that would be foolhardy in the extreme.
