BEWARE

Max tow is the maximum weight you can tow without damaging your car pulling away on a hill. In your case this is 1500kg BUT it is certain that it will be subject to being within the Gross Train Weight. This is the maximum weight the loaded car and caravan can be. If the car is reasonably or heavily loaded your max tow must be reduced from the 1500kg. Max tow = Gross Train Weight minus actual loaded weight of the car. This is a legal requirement.

Your outfit also has to be stable. For this it's recommended that the MTPLM should not be more than 85% of the car's kerbweight. Yours is 1506kg kerbweight x 0.85 = 1206kg. Experienced towers can go more than this. If you stick to the 85% rule you can tow long distance with confidence.

Have a look at the Bailey Ranger  range. They are lightweight and a lot cheaper than Lunars.

500/5 twin dinette 5 berth

510/4  side dinette end washroom 4 berth

540/6 triple bunk and end dinette.

I have a 510/4 and find it lovely. You should get a good one for £8500.

Hi.
We've just spent ages tracking down just the layout your after. Side bathroom & end double bunks. Sometimes referred to as rear dinette. Seems everyone wants a fixed bed these days, which is great but what about younger children. The beauty of the end dinette layout is that there is a screen / solid divider that can be drawn across to effectively create a separate bedroom, perfect for younger children. (We have two, aged 2 & 3).
The Bailey Ranger 500/5 has this layout. Swift & Ace also have this layout but come in at 250kg or so heavier. The Bailey comes in at 1270kg MTPLM, & a quick look on whattowcar.com shows a 2.0TDCi Focus C-Max to be a perfect match at 81%.
   Bailey
Your looking at 1300kg Max MTPLM for a C-Max.
We happened across a couple of year old models for well inside your budget.

Have a look at the Bailey website. This year, as it is their 60th anniversary, they have split the normal Ranger range into Ranger and GT60 ranges. (try saying that after a few vinos).

If you look at both ranges, you will see the various layouts. You should get most of both ranges second hand although GT60 versions are only for this years models.

Hi. over the weekend we went to look at quite a few and try and get some ideas what caravan we want. only really saw 1 in our price range. the Lunar Zenith.   so today I started looking on ebay. an seen quite a few we might go and have look at. is it a bad thing or not? ideally we want to leave it til about october, when every1 wants to get rid of their caravans. might be some good ones & prices!!    I am a little scared about buying a caravan on ebay. just because you dont know what you are getting. and if anything goes wrong. or is it me? I know things can go wrong whenever.

advice on buying on ebay pls.

Yes you would be pushing it! We have a 1.6 cmax and the max tow limit is 1200 kgs, but I know even with less it would stuggle, as the caravan we just sold was only 750 kgs and that was enough for the car! We want a bailey ranger but know we will have to swap the car too.
