in the local rag tonight , 2 killed when a 4x4 towing a boat jacknifed at the notorious downhill section of the eastbound A64 between malton and York at Whitwell-on -the -Hill

its usually a caravan graveyard on this section of road.

could have been any number of reasons that caused this tragedy but speed is the usual factor on this road, in spite of the warning signs for tow vehicles to change to low gear.

A hell of a lot of boats I see towed are apparently exempt from weight, speed or outside-lane restrictions.

Their owners are also exempt from requiring brains.

think the same rules apply to cars/vans towing race cars usually driven by a racing driver. been overtaken by 1 doing over a ton once. gave the driver a right gobful when he crashed on my post, like when you crash towing the car i wont be there to save you
