We have four moose (mooses??) of increasing size on the back of the van. OH has a craft cutter controlled by the computer which will cut the sticky backed plastic, and once we had found suitable clipart, the rest was easy. Perhaps she ought to go into business.....
Why do we have four moose.....does one need a reason?

Don't do it!!! Saw a recent Swift Challenger on a CC site this summer who's owner had added various extra decals/stripes/badges etc etc. Looked awful and had probably knocked thousands of its resale value.
We are the kind of people that own our van and its ours to do as we wish we dont worry about resale value if you want to do it do it A lot of people spend time worry about resale value why?

We replaced the name and logo stickers on our old '91 Buccaneer as they'd faded and replaced all the stripes, it took ages but really brightened it up, my friends a sign writer so did them for me as it's hard to source things like that for old vans.
I don't think I'd ever add any extras though, like others have said, it's resale value, I can't afford to knock £100's off! Plus it does make you wonder what's underneath them and potential new owners may worry they wont be able to remove them without damaging the van.
The people who previously owned my parents van were Wales enthusiasts and have stuck loads of welsh stickers on the woodwork on the side of the fridge and now my parents who don't like Wales are stuck with them!
Replaced all the faded decals on the Swift Challenger, looks a whole lot smarter than it did, got the decals all ready made on Ebay, they were precisely the same and look really good.
As already touched upon, all well and good if you want to keep the van forever, but if you ever want to sell it or trade it in then it will knock a lot of the value.
Be honest, who would replace their car with one resprayed in pink with "Tracy" decals all over it... Only someone called Tracy who has no taste, to everyone else it is almost worthless.
I hardly think that anyone would paint their caravan pink and put Tracy Decals all over it.
However if you want your van to stand out in a crowd, then extra decals is the cheapest way of doing so. It is either that or going for a van that very few others have.
We chose the van route and although it cost us more than a few decals, that was our choice.
I must say though, the resale cost has never been a factor in our calculations. We are too busy enjoying our van to worry about its possible future value. I think that if its resale value was something I had to consider, I would never have bought the thing in the first place.
