We are due to set off in our caravan on Sunday (woo ho! At last!) and we need to look at insurance I suppose. Bah.
Does anyone else have an old caravan insured? Just looking for a few recommendations for insurance companies if possible please? (And maybe who to avoid..!)
Thanks folks! I had done a quick google after I typed op and a company called Sureterm came up - tried an online quote which came to £88, which is for a Swift Allouette 1990, 5 berth. Sounds quite cheap. Which is ok - but also makes me worry!
C & CC insurance here, £62 for an extremely good level of cover on my 20 year old caravan. The CC was a close second and Caravanguard also gave me a good quote but it didn't include the awning, when that was added in the cost went up to £114.
Don't even think of using E & L - if you do a search on here you'll find all the threads about them and the trouble many people have had with them.

If you are in the CC you are likely to find that their insurance is as good as anything that you can buy, as reargds the other company mentioned you have to remember that you gets what you pay for. I have been with the CC for 17 years and on the odd occasion that I have had to claim I have always been impressed by the way that they have dealt with the claim.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
