This question is based on knowing what you are doing, and I think Gary or Wizard may be the best people to answer it.
I use the BP Gaslight propane cylinders, which are not obtainable in France, and our caravan has an onboard regulator. This regulator has an isolating tap which is after the regulator.
Now, if we were in France and the BP cylinder ran dry, with the onboard regulator tap turned OFF, would it be considered safe practice to make up a pigtail with a regulator to suit an obtainable cylinder, and the other end having the adaptor to connect to the caravan's external gas point? Bearing in mind that, after the regulator, the external point is just a part of the gaspipe system and, on our van, the first branch in the pipework after the onboard regulator.
Bertie.
