how can we stop earwigs in our awning poles, in the creases on awning and any where else they want to go, i hate them, we use citronella iol burner for midges etc but the earwigs aint bothered about it, so does anyone have any ideas what will work
Luckily i've not had this problem, but don't know of a 'deterent'. There was another thread running quie recently but i didn't read all of it so don't know if anyone knew of one. Sorry not much help!

Not a lot you can do as they can fly as well a crawl there are even more of them in France you will just have to learn to like/ignore them as I had to.
An old gardeners tip to get shot of earwigs is to stuff a flower pot with straw and place it upside down on a pole which is driven into the ground, leave it a day or two then knock out the straw and set fire to it, you will kill earwigs by the thousand this way.
I take one of the automatic insect sprays with me (the kind that sends out a shot of pyrethrin every 6 or 7 minutes) and have it in the van overnight and the awning during the day. It seems to keep everything at bay, except for some reason, spiders.
