Could you tell me what is done when your caravan is serviced.
My oh see"s to the maitenance of our van (he"s more than qualified)but i would just like to know what the companies do during a service ie.....electrics ,gas fire etc...
When my caravan was service AT Discover at EVESHAM in March The water system was not done as
The filter housing was leaking and a big leak under tap so it was a rip off service. Thanks they have now closed down And it cost over £200
just had a service includes all gas appliancies, all water system, all electrics both 240v and 12v, damp check, clean grease and adjust brakes and check brake pads. cost of £109.00p
We had ours done at the Oxford branch of a dealer with 3 branches in the South and it looks like the fitters swung down out of one of the said branches to service it,
Front hitch slide not greased,
New valves fitted longest I have ever seen turned the van into a modern version of Bodice's Chariot I refused to take it on the road in case we flailed a pedestrian or cyclist to death but seriously they were so long they would have failed very quickly from fatigue due to flapping around, apparently according to the service manager they have fitted lots of them so beware I had to go and get some more suitable valves myself for them to fit.
Tyre pressures under inflated by 7 PSI,
Repair to bed board that resulted in the whole bed only being supported by the plastic runners and the screws showing down the front of the seat bases.
Brake rod support guides not greased.
These are just the things that I noticed with a quick glance over what faith can I have that the gas/electrical checks have been done correctly.
The cost £200 I could have towed it through Longleat and got the same type of service it would have been cheaper.
