Hi, could not get the first number to work but had a look at second one, this caravan in my opinion looks older than is stated.  Ask the seller for the CRIS number which will be etched into every window in the van, then you will be able to date it from this.  CRIS came in 1992 but even our old Lunar we had which was a 1991 was still registered with CRIS.

Our old Award had a cassette but no blown air, and that was an `89, so I don`t think you can generalise too much, but they may well be as advertised.

Bottom line for me though is that in that price bracket condition is a million times more important than age, and is either van is really tidy, dry and what you want, does it matter if it is an `89 or a `91?

Not sure at this stage how ` clear` it is as to how old they actually are, Particularly the Compass which looks more of a stripped out basic van (looks like Shadow model TBH with the coloured stripes) than a really old one, but obviously if when checking it doesn`t stack up a purchaser should walk away.

Maybe this is what the seller means by being `done-over`? - being found out!

the GXL, I have found a couple of others advertised as 1992 which look the same as the one on ebay (boat roof, brown graphics etc) the 1990 version had an external gas locker, so its no older than that. IIRC its around that time ABI were having difficulties so were not updating models.

the compass is a little harder to pin down, late 80s or early 90s, my 88 musketteer had the same type of windows and interior colour scheme, no older than 87, thats when the exterior gas locker finished. the `95 had cassette toilet.

personally, the abi is about right, the compass imo is late 80s
