i thought it was only me that did that with the loo roll to "quieten" things down!!!!
just a thought about the water "banging", have you bled the hot water tank? when you first arrive on site, and fill the water barrel and attach the pump you need to get the water heater full before turning it on, to do this turn the hot water tap till it stops spluttering, and starts to run freely, if you dont do this then you wont have enough water in the heater and risk damaging it, and the air in the system will never get rid of itself unless you are their for a while.
as for your damp problem, did you not check the van over with a damp meter before handing over your cash? unfortunately you have found out the hard way now havent you, you could get it repaired but this sort that you are describing to have done professionally will cost more than you will have paid for the van, and unless you husband is any good at diy i think that perhaps the reason the previous owners sold it was due to that.
as for the loo brush, of course we have one, but its a cheapie dish washing brush that i have in a container in the bathroom. sorry but putting my hand in the loo to clean up is not one of the things i do!!!
as for using a jug to flush the loo, erm hasnt any one told you that you need to put flush int he tank and then turn the large handle at the side of the loo? you fill this up from outside the van where the cassette is
