We have been given an awning carpet with our caravan. Do others put these down on top of solid groundsheets or on top of breathable groundsheets? Any suggestions will be gratefully received.
When we were away at Newhaven in August it was so wet, even though it was hard standing, that we put a groundsheet down first and then the breathable on top, if the ground was dry (not found any this year!!) and in good condition I would just put it down on it's own.

We use a Carpetina groundsheet on top of a 'solid' groundsheet (not breathable) but only use hardstanding pitches. Most sites want only breathable groundsheets but we don't like using those on grass with today's weather! Hence we only use hardstanding pitches.
Mmmm! Must admit that we have had a breathable groundsheet up until now, but with the weather as it has been have used a tarp underneath it as we had started to paddle through the awning, not very grass friendly, but then I think of all those tents with SIGs they leave big marks where they have been. I do think it does all depend on the weather, but never having had a awning carpet (it seems different to the breathable groundsheet - more closer weave), I thought I would try and find out what others do.
