We got ours before the Sancerre was released and we looked at a GT60 520/4 and we found the front beds (without pulling anything out) too short in that. We were then looking at the GT60 540/6 until we found our Pageant S7 being offered at a deal too good to miss.
As you've got a 12 y/o then I assume there is not too much disparity in bed times. Once bed times converge I am sure we will be looking at a fixed bed.

You are right - our daughter likes to stop up a bit later when on hols so therefore it is not a problem.
