Well I picked up the Caravan on friday, spent 6 hours cleaning it and went to the CCC site in Chertsey with the kids and oh for one night. I was so happy with the caravan that nothing was gonna stop me!! Considering it has been in storage for at least the last 3 years the condition wasn't bad, just needed a really good clean.
We arrived at Chertsey and was shown to our pitch, the excitment was over flowing. After 1 hour of sussing everything out and filling the aquarolls, we were having a cuppa. Then the awning, 40 mins for a first attempt i didn't think was too bad for a first attempt! There are a few things that need doing, like a new water filter, clean the system and some cosmetic stuff like new curtains etc, but nothing major.
I can honestly say that I have always been wary of getting a caravan, but after one of the best weekends I have ever had I would recomend it to anyone. We are so proud of our Caravan the kids loved it and want to go this weekend too. However we are going to spend a day doing some of the bits that need doing an go the weekend after.
Any advice of help would be helpful as I know nothing about Caravans only tents!!! I Can't wait to go again
Hi like you we bought a rather old musketeer, we have just finished our second year in it. Can honestly say that although we like you had to do a fair bit of cleaning and minor things to it, both my kids, OH and me love going away in it. We are already looking at our next van to move onto possibly at the end of next year.
LOL thats what I thought at first, we looked at all the bits, put it to one side, had a cuppa than tackled it again. We were so suprised that it went so smoothly. OH wants to get a new awning, but with the kids so little I don't think its worth it. And with this one being so easy to put up i'm a bit scared that the next one we get will have loads of poles and pits

Hi, if it has been standing I would replace the tyres pronto. Tyres only have a 4 - 5 year lifespan anyway and if you have a van in one place they develop flat spots. It is never worth risking your family's life for the sake of a few quid to put new tyres on.
The person that gave us the van had the tyres done before we moved it. They are brand new They are the tyre on tyre ones or something Tyres arn't really my thing i'm afraid!
I'm not too sure what the awning is but on the front it says Salou. It is so easy. I have been looking for a new one and like the look of the tuscany one in towsure . we will have to wait and see.
Thanks to everyone for their tips and advice, I really do appreciate it
Congrats on your caravan Can't help much with advice we're pretty new to this ourselves. Just noticed you're in Deepcut, my daughter's godparents moved there in August!
