Just wanted to check we drained the water from our carver 2 water heater, when we put the pump in the water container and turn on the pump will the hot water tank fill up automatically, like it does when you used some of it ? Might be silly Q but new to caravaning

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.yes it will fill your hot tank automatically. make sure the drain is closed,forgot odd times myself.open taps over sinks to let ALL air out,takes a few minutes and  you think it will not fill.i always open hot taps first then get the air out of the cold ones.only add the pump after the barrel is full otherwise you can get air locks. once full the hot tank is designed to be full all the time in use,even when the barrel runs out of water.do not forget to drain before leaving site as water weighs 10lb a gallon and could cause instability.

I would run the taps a bit to make sure there are no air pockets in the pipes/tank, before switching on the hot water heater.  The tank is usually full when the pump stops making a noise.
