In part i agree with Kabbes BUT, the Pegasus Does not have wood in its construction as i understand it is alloy, foam and plastic just like a freezer trailer.(Iceland , Asda, Tesco wagons) http://www.baileypegasus.co.uk/ http://www.baileyalu-tech.co.uk/

Ok I have been going back and forth on this and thought I had made my mind up. I put a deposit down on a Sancerre last weekend. For £2k more I could get a pegasus, should I do it?
I know I have had great advice on here and really value your opinons
If your dealer has offered you the option after you've seen it in the flesh you've nothing to lose. The range will be on the stand for the model launch at the NEC in October so you'll be able to compare then.
We were lucky to get shown round one last week & it's a cracking van. Had our Provence not been new, we'd have a Pegasus. I'm happy to sit back & watch its progress though, a 12 month down the line & we'll be reading lots of reports on here about them.

IMO the Pegusus will be a great success and as a result the second hand market for other Bailey vans will be hit.
Bailey will struggle to sell "old technology" vans....the interest in the Pegasus is huge.
Mr UM
I don't think that'll be the case Mr UM. Surely the price difference between the "old technology" vans (as you put it) & the Pegasus will be no different than the current range price differential between the Discovery & the Senator models. People who can't afford a £16,000 plus van won't worry about them but they'll still want the model they can afford or prefer. I say prefer because, we've never liked the Senator but love the Pageant. Whatever happens with Pegasus wouldn't effect the way we see Bailey vans, the layout & services of a brilliant dealer is what sells them to us.
I think the following Bailey has with it's product range will still be there. Obviously people will hope the whole line up will adopt the new construction process while at the same time enjoying their "old Technology" vans. You only have to count the number of caravans you see while driving between motorway junctions & see how many are Baileys to see how strong their customer base is. We came home down the M5 from Gloucester this afternoon & we commented on the number of Baileys compared to other makes.
A good second hand Bailey right across the price range will always find a buyer. IMO that is.
