Hi just wondering what peoples preference where a day tent or a gazebo just the 2 of us use the van and some times cant be bothered with a awning many thanks in advance
Some sites won't let you have gazebos will they? Why not get one of the little lightweight porches? They take about 15 minutes to put up and you can open all the sides if you don't want to be so closed in.

we use a sunncamp day shelter, fantastic bit of kit, takes 5 -10 mins to put up and believe me it stands up to the wind. Its also waterproof where most gazebos are not.each side can be rolled up to give a gazeebo effect if wanted.
my brother purchased a outwell day shelter (about£130) which even has a groundsheet sown in, he loves it.
We don't use an awning (only 2 of us too). We leave the table outside (metal), put the deck chairs in the car overnight (canvas), and muddy shoes, cycling helmets etc go in a "Really Useful" plastic box with lid under the van. But we do have a wind break !!

Agree entirely. We used to take a gazebo to France to act as shade (fetched it down at the slightest hint on a strong breeze) (as well as a full awning!) but wouldn't generally use them. Unless we're on a site for more than a week we would use a lightweight porch. Even if we did stay fo over a week in the winter we would still probably use a lightweight porch - we wouldn't be sitting out in it, and therefore would only need it for storeage. Generally wouldn't trust gazebos.
A lightweight porch awning is quicker to put up than a day room, I've had both - could do the porch awnings on my own but needed another pair of hands for the day room. Both were stable in windy weather whereas a gazebo isn't.
