I went to a fairly local dealer today as they had a bit of a do on'free bbq' etc and the 2010 range of Lunars on display. I was really impressed with the build quality and spec.Although the price seemed high at £14890 when I compared the spec to say a Bailey or Swift with a similar layout it was the weight that appealed to me as it would probably mean a step up in the range and more weight if I chose one of the other two manufacturers. It's a good job I was on my own or we would probably have ordered one there and then. Does anyone have any comments on Lunar vans re build quality, warrenty claims, etc. Thanks.

hi was it near to holmes chapel  ? if it was we were there on  sat we looked at the lunar vans and thought they had improved the quality over the last few years ,my brother bought a new lunar quasar twin axle from there in 2006 it had a few faults at first but he sorted them himself  and he kept it for 18 months then changed to an elddis super sirocco the build quality was much better in that van. my sister bought a new lunar motor home from there  in 2006 as well, i think they paid about £55000 for it and had nothing but trouble with it for the first 18 months lunar really messed them about in the end after my sister threatened court action they finally fixed it and now they are happy with it  .my brother liked the lunar quasar 524 which he is thinking of down sizing to . i must admit though i preferred the ranger gt 60 510/4 which has the same layout and equipment but is lighter has a bigger payload and  £2000 cheaper  but then i am biased towards rangers  .              phil

Yes it was Phil. I thought the extra touches ie,tv point in rear dinette, properly sited smoke alarm(horizontal fixed to ceiling) exterior gas point and although I didnt spot it an external shower point? Would come in handy for showering down the mutt! were handy additions to have. Our present awning will also fit whereas if we changed to a Bailey Pageant model I think we would need a new awning as well. Thanks for your feedback and will bear it in mind if we go back to do a deal.

We have ordered a 2010 Quasar 544.  I would agree the price is realtively high but in return we get a 'van in the layout we want that is light enough to be towable by our chosen towcar.

Build quality of the 'vans we have seen is up there with our current Abbey.

We have ordered a few extras eg ATC, omnivent etc to bring it up to spec but generally we are happy with the overall package.

The external shower connects next to the pump (in the pump hatch) but I don't think the shower attachment itself comes as standard on the Quasar or Lexon.
