Hi

We are currently tent campers, but after camping with our little one (soon to be 9 months) I felt a little envious of the 'tin tent' campers.

My Mam and Dad have just got their first tourer, a well kept 1990 Lunar Clubman 4 Berth and so I thought we could get a nice, well used, but loved oldie.

My Mam has been to the caravan place where she got 'Lucy' from and he has got coming in tomorrow a 1989 4 Berth Lunar Sunbeam, which sounds perfect for our needs. For the price (£1100) it is coming with a full awning, gas bottle, hook up cable, steps and spare tyre, along with everything that should be in the caravan.

However, before I send my Mam and Dad to go and have a look (we live 70 miles from them) to give it a once over to see if it's worth thinking about seriously, I need to know the fully laden weight.

My car is a 05 plate 1.6 Ford Focus C-max and I've been told by my local Ford dealer it can tow 1200kg. As I'm fully aware though, I would like to tow as light a weight as possible.

So my question is, does anybody know the fully laden weight of the a 1989 Lunar Sunbeam 4 berth. I've googled it and nothing is coming up.

Also for those of you in the know, would this be a 'safe' or as near a safe towing compatibility with my car?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi, our first caravan was a Lunar Sunbeam, year 1991, if i remember correctly the MTPLM weight was 1100kg.  Hope this helps.
