First of all, hello to all. I'm new to the forum, and a bit of a newbie :-)
We get married in end of November, and we've decided to 'wish' for money towards buying our very first caravan. I used to caravan a lot as a child, and my lovely fiance is a true scouts camper at heart. We are really excited about it, and can barely wait to get started! I'm sure our little 2 year old will love it as much as we always have.
My question to you is this; is there a particular time of year that is better price-wise for caravan shopping? Is out-of-season a good time, or would we be better off holding off until spring time? What are your thoughts?
The end of season which is about now is probably the best time to try for a bargain.

I would agree with that to - the end of the season. Dealers will want to shift stock to make room for the next years (more expensive?) models. Do you have anything in mind?
I'd agree - dealers want forecourt space now, and private owners want to sell privately in order buy another van from a dealer without a trade-in. New models come in around this time, and those who have sold privately want to 'get in quickly' to bag the best models so now is absolutely peak time.
Well our 'dream' caravan (second hand at a dealer) that we've really liked the look of is an Elddis Equipe 516. The one we saw at the dealers was a bit expensive, but I really love the way you can close off one of the sleeping sections. That way our daughter can have her own little closed off sleeping space so that we can about our evening without waking her up.
Caravan shopping is very exciting! They sure have improved a lot since I was a child.
from what ive seen the dealers have loads of free space on their forecourts and personally dont think there will be a great drop in prices at all.dealers are crying out for used vans right now as demand is still very high. this year could easily be different from the normal sales / discount pattern.
its worth a try to haggle anytime though , they can only say no
Same down here in Somerset/Devon. The forecourts are empty, I can't see very much happening this winter for sure. Poor old Exeter caravans lost their franchises as both Avondale and Fleetwood went bust, they had just a handful of vans on their forecourt last week and they were grossly over priced.
