Our planned trips for the year are all over and I've been cleaning the van ready for my next set of touring. But after thoroughly cleaning cupboards walls and seats there was still an odd aroma in the van. It turned out to be cooking smells trapped in the curtains. Once these were washed the van now smells fresh. How often do you clean your curtains. And why if the curtains are big enough to cover the window do they insist on putting in short wires so that they look neat but are incapable of being pulled across. I think that I will buy some longer spring wire and try drawing the curtains as well as using the pull down blinds. This should save a bit of heat loss.
By the way the cooking is "Bacon & Eggs " or "Eggs & Bacon". We're not very adventurous cooks when we are away. But that is what pubs meals are there for.

We have a Fleurette as well. I did just this with the curtains, ie. put in longer wires so that we could draw them fully across, the only one that I haven't done is the big front window as it slopes in. I think I might put another wire for the bottom hem of the curtains to keep them in at the base when drawn.
I think it seems much cosier with the curtains closed of an evening

Try using something like Fabreze if you do not want to take them off and wash them.
do not use this in the caravan, one lady sprayed as she left for the week and returned to a mouldy surface on the cushions.this left bad marks that can not be removed.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
I use febreze all the time in mine, we have two dogs, as long as you don't go overboard and soak everything its fine, I always leave the windows slightly open while its drying, works every time with no problems.
