Thanks everybody.
I am seriously gong to investigate the Alko thing at Warwick. Just for peace of mind....you never know when something like this will be an absolue godsend and OH is very concerned about safely towing the van. (OH was an ADI, still has an HGV1 and PSV1 licences)...therefore very safety conscious. He also used to teach people for PSV/HGV tests so even if I say it myself, is an exceptionally good driver. I have also towed the old Swift myself, even if only for a short distance - maybe an inferioritiy complex on my part, driving wise.
I can now relax and go back to enjoying the new Hymer. Many thanks for all your replies. It really is a great caravan (I'm over the moon with it) and am now looking forward to our first proper holiday in it to Yorkshire.
Incidentally, thanks Ian. As I have already said, it did tow well back home on Saturday ... so I think that was why it was such a shock to think that we may have been well over the recommended limit.
Emptied the bottle now....another one in the fridge. Ah well, it was on special offer at Sainsburys.
