hi i had the same problem its easily sorted you need to take the handle apart and slightly enlarge the hole where the spindle goes through to the inside handle i did it with some 240 grade sand paper rolled into a tube and then lubricated the spindle with graphite powder. i think its quite a common problem with hartel door locks mine started to stick almost from new and it took a few attempts until i found the cause of the problem. copied from a previous post
