I just want to say that after four years of having my caravan i have to sell it as we have both lost our jobs and can no longer afford the storage, it is such a sad time as we have had so much fun in it over the years, i have had the most happiest times and it was great going back to the same sites and many a time bumping in to the people we met the year before, nothing beats caravaning, i loved every min even tryin to site it when the heavens have opend up.
Sorry to hear that, perhaps use some of the money from the sale to buy some camping gear for next season. Certainly cheaper than caravanning. I sold my caravan & I'm back with a tent for the forseable future, hoping for good weather next summer!
we have done the camping thing but we just love the comfort of the caravan, and after we had that realy wet summer a few years ago and watchin all the people in the tents just having to try and dry everything they had i realy dont think i could do that again, having a caravan has spoiled us ha ha
Sorry to hear that you are having to sell your caravan, we have been effected by the downturn, but fortunately not such that the caravan has to go, touch wood!
Is there no way you could ask a neighbour or family/friend to store it till you get back on your feet
Seems a shame to part with it when you like it so much
I know that feeling. we were hoping to upgrade our van but in the past 7 weeks i have done only 2 small jobs(self employed plasterer) and neither has paid up yet. so hopefully i can hang on to the ole girl another year or 2.and if some work turns up any where i will have some where to stay.hope you can find a way to hang onto your van.
I know how uyou feel Neil my husband is a painter and decorator ( subcontractor) so no matter how hard he looks no work, as times are hard people are doing it their self or just not having it done at all, and as for asking some one to store it for us till we get back on our feet we have tryed all poss routes but nothing, we have a drive at our house but as its a houseing assosiation house we are not able to keep it there
I realise how you feel having to sell your pride & joy, I've been there several times over the years but if it'll sell & keep you out of trouble, sell it. You can always buy another when the times are better. We've just bought another this year but it, along with everything else can & will go if needs be.
Fair play to you for recognising the problem & addressing it before you found yourself in a hole you couldn't get out of.
Hiya Denise and John, sorry to hear your bad news,i know its easy for someone else to say,but try and look on the bright side, things can only get better ,we're in a similar situation ourselves and we're hanging on to the van 'fleetwood colchester 2002' by the skin of our teeth, worst thing is that we havnt had her for that long either, all i can say to you is be positive, and you're not on your own.
