Evening ukcs. you may remember me posting a few days back about getting our first caravan (love it), but now i am just wondering what you all do regarding bedding. Do you use sleeping bags or duvets?? do you use fitted sheets on the front made up bed??
thanks

We use a mattress topper with a duvet cover over it (v comfortable), then have a duvet to sleep under. Loads better, we've had a sleeping bag before but personally, I found them too restrictive.
We have two duvets, both king size. Top one is 13.5 tog feather and down, bottom one is cheap supermarket fibre one with old cover on. Easier than wrestling with a sheet over the cushions and very snuggly! Makes the cushions more comfortable to lie on too.
and also, do you turn all the cusions over so that you lie on the flat bit or do you just put the cushion backs on the slats in the middle? Isn't it a bit lumpy like that??
We use 2 king size sleeping bags. 1 on the bottom to lie on and the other obviously over the top. Extra blanket if really cold

Exactly, and if the one beneath you is a thick one it acts as a topper on the bed and removes a lot of the lumps and bumps.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
We have 2 single beds so a fleece sleeping bag each opened out goes on the bottom then a Merano Wool Blanket each, goes on top. The Merano Blankets keep us warm in winter and cool in summer.
We use a suer king size sheet and super king size duvet depending on what time of year it is.
Can anyone inform me of mattress toppers.......We are looking to get one but can you just buy a normal bed topper or are there specially fitted ones for a caravan as the bed in a van isnt a "normal" bed shape.
Duvets, we hate using sleeping bags. Even in our folding camper the first thing that went were the sleeping bags. You need the bags when you are camping as it is harder to keep the cold out, but there is nothing better than snuggling up in our duvet.
Nice cotton sheets and down and feather duvet, with lovely down and feather pillows - a proper bed just like at home!
But, we have a fixed bed!
For the front bed we use a king size sheet, and another down and feather duvet and nice pillows - but we only take those away with us if we are 'having people to stay'.
