Manchester is a shadow of NEC sizewise, but at the end of the day, how many manufacturers are there ? And if you don't want a motorhome, a trailer tent, and every gadget under the sun, well you will see the vans at Manchester.
What is a deal? Well you can be sure that whatever deal you have been offered, someone somewhere will offer you the same thing for a pound less.
Decide what you really want/need, sleep on it, and then ask around. If you are buying a first van, and buying new, it's a simple question to ask,.Who wants the buisness most , at the time. At the moment there is a shortage of 2 nd hand vans, and trade in represents a chain of profit to the dealer, so you may not be top of the list at the moment.
My tips would be
1 Talk deals at the end of the month/year, when dealerships are trying to get their figures up to get on the next discount level from the supplier.
2 Be flexible on delivery. At time of order, if you say you will accept any delivery within the next few months, this gives the dealer a backstop on figures if someone gives back word, and you may well find your van comes through a lot quicker than expected. Course you have to be ready to pay on demand.
Bottom line, nobody ever got rich by giving stuff away, and there are only so many "loss leaders" you can offer.
