there seems to be some confusion about porches that will fit this model.we`ve just been to local dealer who had this model on display.armed with tape measure we discovered awning rail to floor height is 245 cm....so a standard lightweight porch usually 235-250cm high will fit adequately on most occasions.
as for fouling the windows, a 390 length porch fits between the open door and front nearside window and covers the window completely adjacent to the bedroom at the rear side.
again, no real problem.
hope this helps for anyone who is interested. we are going to hang onto our 390 and try it on the van.if it doesnt appear quite right it will go on ebay and we`ll think again but it should be fine
How do you find the 390 porch awning I am right in thinking its the one where the poles arch, The reason I'm asking is that we are looking for an awning but cant afford something like the dorema, but these are a bit cheaper and I like the look of them, do you find you have plenty of room in them.
Sorry for the questions
many thank

So your buying a Bailey ? i seem to remember you saying a while ago that you would not ever buy one again and explorer group Elddis/Compass vans were far better

correct and if you read the pegasus post you will have seen im eating humble pie.still think explorer vans are better built than the standard bailey but pegasus appears to be a league or 2 above standard
the pegasus looks far better and feels far better than any other bailey, hell the floor didnt even move and creak in the pegasus unlike the sancerre with the same layout we looked in to compare at the NEC
I bet they didn't tell you that in year 3 the Pegasus service includes tightening all the bolts that hold the sides together and to do that all the mouldings have to be removed to gain access and there is a £350 charge for this and it has to be done to maintain the 10 year warranty . For a top spec caravan to replace the senator it does not have much going for it apart from the way the sides are put together i was disappointed to say the least and will probably defect to Coachmen or Swift certainly not Compass/Elddis after the fiasco with our 14k Compass Rally shed that leaked like a proverbial sieve
yep they told us that but id rather pay £350 for that than getting it resealed and the rotten timber work or cracked panels repaired.its only £350 after all.
The Pegasus 534 was the first van we looked in at the show and it ticked 98% of the boxes for us. The only things we were not sure about were the new type catches on the doors as we prefer the push button type and the TV not being mounted up like in the Senators. (The spice rack thing seemed a little pointless)
Before today the California was our choice but the 534 has a more flexible layout at the front which suits us and works out cheaper than the senator.
As for the other vans, we got bored looking at vans that don't seem any different from previous years other than they'd followed the trend toward the darker wood finishes.
BTW did anyone notice that the show didn't seem as well attended as in previous years?

Looking at it positively they have designed something where the fixings can be tightened; as many know its not too easy with the 1980's era construction.
