I am awaiting delivery of my new 542dt and in the brochure it decribes "Strong body construction with a new technology that uses no screws". Does anyone know how this works? I know it has polyester side walls. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I have the 2010 UK brochure open if front of me and its on Page 22.

I have found a link to it which is slightly different in that it doesn't mention it for the Altea but it does on the the details for the Adiva nad the Adora.

Actually most glassfibre caravans (like mine) do not use screws either so it aint that that "is new technolodgy".

I have now spoken to Adria UK and they no longer use screws to join the front and rear panels to the Roof. They are now bonded by glue which is supposed to be much stronger reduces the chance of Water Ingress . I suppose it makes sense as a screw goes through a hole in the panel and with glue you get rid of the requirement for the hole. They use this technology in the manufacture of car chassis.

They are a bonded construction, that is actually stronger than screws, because it is continuous, and also therefore more waterproof.
Bonded costruction of the same type has been used in the leisure boat industry for a while, where complete ocean going hulls are bonded, and as previously stated, in the car industry.
In Formula 1 all the carbon fibre bodies are of a bonded construction, and I am sure that when we were taken around the AirBus factory in North Wales they said that the wings are bonded together.
